oy.

This morning as I made my way to the breakfast table to join my parents as they read the newspaper, my mom informed me of some trouble that San Antonio's very own celebrity couple, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker, got into. It involved Tony not moving his car when asked by a cop and then Eva yelling racial slurs at the cop. Anyways, I was expecting to have to dig through the San Antonio Express-News to find the article, but I didn't have to. It was the top headline on the front page. And I'm not really surprised that it's the top headline because well, this IS San Antonio, but I suppose it's just wishing thinking that the top headline won't be something involving Eva Longoria.

This was the headline below that one, by the way.

San Antonio, ladies and gentlemen. Gotta love it.

Why is everyone in Texas done with finals? How? Jillian's almost done too. I'm not going home until the 23rd. Booooo.

At least I'll be home in time for Aaron's Christmas party and the amazing food that I've heard so much about. Mmmmmmm. But I'm missing the Labat concert AGAIN which makes me sad cause I really want to sing Christmas songs with my girls.

My family is AWESOME by the way. Funniest/weirdest group of people you'll ever meet. My mom's cousin gave me $10 for no reason and then she bugged her sister for $10 and then gave me $5. So I made $15 this weekend and I got free dinners and cab rides and I went to the Metropolitan Opera's opening night of Rigoletto and saw The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and went to MOMA. Family is fun.

But I still have finals. Ahhhhhhhh. I'm ready to go home.

Last night all my wildest dreams came true when Michael Showalter gave a lecture at Skirball. And if you don't know who Michael Showalter is, then get out of my life.

Now, I've never seen Stella live so you can imagine my excitement when I was told that 1/3 of Stella would be speaking at NYU. So one might expect that he would be doing a comedy routine, but no. Well I mean he was funny but it really was a lecture. He stood at a podium and talked about his life and what led him to become a comedian and he talked about when he went to NYU and all this great stuff like where the name Stella came from (which I never knew). Of course many things he said were exaggerated for comic effect. He showed clips too! He opened with one from his guest spot on Law & Order as Alan G., the forensics expert. He also showed a video from what had to be he freshman year at NYU when he was in a comedy troupe called the New Group and it was of him and Michael Ian Black and they looked like gawky teenagers. Actually Showalter still looks like one. Other clips were from The State, a never before seen pilot for a talk show for VH1, The Baxter, and a gag reel from Stella. Joe Lo Truglio came out and helped with something too. The whole thing was really funny and not what I expected. And if you didn't go, then I feel bad for you. Really.

Oh did I mention that I met him? Cause I did. He signed my badge, we shook hands, and then we fucked.

I'm kidding. We didn't shake hands.

My dad went fishing this weekend and my mom forgot I was Mexican...

Who are these people and what did they do with my parents?!?!

They've gone crazy since my brother and I left, that's what happened. Going home in a couple of weeks is going to be interesting...

Fine dining is fun.

Tonight in honor of Aaron's 21st Birthday, I went uptown for a fine dining experience with him and a few of his Columbia friends. Now, I hadn't had a real fine dining experience in New York until tonight and I'm not gonna lie, I need to do this more often. We went to L'Impero which is located at Tudor City Place right next to the U.N. It was pretty swanky and the proportion of amount of food to cost kind of caused a "huh?" reaction from me, but it was yummy. And sophisticated. I felt like a real grown-up. So, yes, I think I need to hang out with Aaron more often. But not because he has incredible taste and his knowledge of food is impressive and he can cook, but because he's Aaron and he's awesome.

Also, tonight was another Anna + dudes night. Not that I'm complaining, but seriously...Rebecca, I need another dinner with you pronto.

But Happy 21st, Aaron...I'm jealous.

And also, Happy December.
