arise, arise

i haven't posted in over 2 months. which means no one reads this anymore. whatever.

END OF SUMMER POST COMMENCE!!!!

i left off last time with the songwriters hall of fame thing i believe. well i passed all my classes and now i'm home in texASS. it's really hot which makes life really boring because i don't want to go outside. i feel bad for my dog. we go outside to play ball and we're back inside in 5 minutes. but at least i'm here to just sit and stare at him. that's all he really wants.

i went to austin on thursday. my brother's house is actually pretty cool. they have a backyard with a firepit. they grilled and then i drove home at 9:00 at night which kind of sucked. i was tired. my knees started hurting and then for some reason i-35 decided to be one lane instead of 3 for awhile. it was not fun. but i love austin so it's ok.

i've netflixed freaks and geeks since i've been here. why didn't i watch this show when it was on the air?!!! how did i NOT watch it? i feel like a loser for not knowing there was this amazing show out there. i guess that shows what kind of kid i was at 14. but yeah, this is my new favorite show ever even though it was cancelled 6 years ago. i'm getting disc 6 soon which is also the last one and i'm going to be really depressed after i finish it. i just have so much love for it. *sigh* so funny...so real...

see, now i can't write anymore i just got really depressed thinking about it. man...

Thursday night I got all dressed up and went to the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony. I could sit here and write all about it, but the SHOF website did that for me. But I will say this: it was really amazing. Granted I couldn't see a thing from where I was sitting and had to look at the monitor to watch the whole thing, but still. I saw Stevie Wonder live! I stood up to see him. When am I going to get that chance again? I think probably never.

last night at birthday dinner, the waitress gave us free champagne (which was by far the best champagne i've ever had) and they sung happy birthday to me in italian. and i got to blow out a candle. and make a wish. it was awesome.

Week to come

In 10 minutes, I turn 21. And look at my week to come:

Tomorrow: Birthday. Sweet. Dinner with Rebecca. Possibly Michael Showalter at Rififi (?) Anyone down for that?
Wednesday: Justin "JC" Crowell is gonna be in town!!!! We're probably going to a jazz club. If you're a Justin fan like me, you should come, too.
Thursday: Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony.
Friday: Mine and Byron's Birthday party.

Seriously. Best Summer Ever. Fuck I love my life.

On Thursday, I get to attend this ceremony. Jealous? I think so. I heard a rumor of a certain performance by one of my favorite performers EVER. But again, won't give away who I think it is in fear of jinxing it. But yes. EXTREME AWESOMENESS.

Everybody loves to cha cha cha

Here's an update on how the summer has been going so far:

1. It's June now. Which is awesome because it's my favorite month. And because my birthday is approaching!!!! So soon.

2. My internship is going well. I'm learning stuff and I'm getting more comfortable around the people. An invitation to an awesome event was extended to me and the other intern this week. But I don't want to say what it is yet cause I don't want to jinx it since I feel like us going hasn't been made official yet. But I'll probably be on here freaking out when I found out for sure. And then you'll be jealous. Actually probably not but whatevs. Oh and SAM COOKE IS MY FAVORITE PERSON EVER NOW.

3. I got suitemates and they're really nice. I had dinner with them last night and they're people I actually want to hang out with. So yay for good roommates!

4. Fondue rules.

5. The weather here sucks right now. It's raining and gross so I stayed in tonight. I am also really tired though. I'm not used to 8 hour days. All I want to do after work is come home and sleep. Having a fake real grown up job is exhausting.

Anyways, I hope your summer is rockin' as hard as mine.

at work i listen to iTunes radio. and today, "jet" came on and i started cracking up. i immediately thought of dancing in mike's room at nick snow's birthday party. and then of the picture of athena, joe, and matt's legs.

thank god for my desk being up at the front secluded from everyone. they would've thought i was crazy.
